The Inland Fisheries Act 2010 established Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) as the body responsible for developing and advising the Minister on policy and national strategies relating to inland fisheries, including sea angling. They also enforce the Inland Fisheries Acts and implement the policies agreed by the Minister regarding conservation, protection, management, marketing, development and improvement of our inland fisheries and sea angling resources.



IFI is responsible for the day to day management of the inland fisheries resource including setting conservation limits, issuing fishing licences and acting on reports of pollution and poaching. For further information please contact IFI Customer Service at 1890 347 424.
